How it Started vs. How it’s Going
It started with a vegetable garden
For the last seven or eight years, my family has been all about the practical side of gardening. If you couldn’t eat it, we didn’t grow it. We’ve always been "seed-to-table" people, starting every single one of our vegetables from seed and tending to our backyard patch. It was a hobby and a way of life, but it was strictly functional.
The shift in 2024
In 2024, my mom, Pat, finally insisted on a change. She wanted to see some flowers in the mix. We tucked some zinnias, dahlias, hollyhocks, sunflowers, and cosmos into the garden beds alongside the veggies, and I didn't think much of it—until I cut that first bloom.
That was the moment I was hooked. What started as a few "filler" plants turned into a full-blown obsession. I spent every spare minute learning everything I could, buying up seeds, and obsessively planning how to start them and make them thrive. I went from a vegetable gardener to someone who couldn’t stop thinking about stems and petals.
Learning the craft
By 2025, I was trialing cut flowers in earnest. If I’m being honest, it was a year of "varying levels of success." In April of that year, Mom tried to convince me it was time to start a business and actually sell the blooms. But I wasn’t ready. I’m a perfectionist, and I didn't feel like my growing was where it needed to be to put my name on it yet.
Where we are today
I spent the last year doing the work. I took a formal flower farming course, I scaled up the operation, and I finally feel like I’ve found my footing. We aren't just "growing some flowers" anymore. We are a mother-daughter team running a specialized farm here in the Bear River Valley, focused on the high-end, beautiful cuts like lisianthus and dahlias that make all that seed-starting worth it.
We’re out here in the dirt every day, doing what we love, so we can bring a piece of our garden into your home.
